How to use your existing planner assets to take advantage of this market now!!
I spend a lot of time researching the market for my customers. I want to help them expand their market base as much as possible in the low content book industry.
During my research for the Digital Planner Training, I came across this one application that was a digital note taking tool. However it did not work like Goodnotes or Xodo, in that you could not create and use hyper-linked tabs.
Just click the button below to gain access to the planner. Be sure to login into your OneDrive personal (not business account). Add the OneNote planner to your notebooks. Create a new notebook and copy and paste the sections from the OneNote planner into the new notebook created. And you now have a OneNote digital planner! There are 21079 onenote digital planner for sale on Etsy, and they cost $17.97 on average. The most common onenote digital planner material is paper. The most popular.
So I ignored it.
But it is a very popular application and it played on my mind, so I went back to do some more research. Then I started to get very excited.
Microsoft OneNote is a powerful note taking and research application that allows you to create ‘notebooks’. Each notebook can be divided into sections and pages. You can also create sub-pages.
There are several sellers on Etsy that state their digital journals can be used in OneNote but it is not as simple as taking a pdf and importing it in. The hyper-linked tabs that are designed for GoodNotes and Notability don’t work in OneNote. You need to do the hyper-linking inside OneNote itself.
Just importing a PDF brings the entire document in as a single page. This is no good because, there is no point in having the tabs on the planner if they don’t work and the user has to scroll all over to find their pages.

And this is what a planner looks like in GoodNotes.
Creating a planner for OneNote is a completely different process to creating one for GoodNotes or Notability.
The goal is to make it as easy as possible for the user. One ‘page’ per page, and instead of wasting space with the tabs, create text hyper-links to the sections and pages inside OneNote itself.
Now one particular seller is dominating the OneNote market on Etsy.
But here’s the thing. You and I can do much better.
Apart from the fact that there is low competition on Etsy for the keyword ‘OneNote Planner’ (Just over 300 results), most of the results are not dedicated OneNote Planners. They are Goodnotes or compatible planners and have the word OneNote in the title or description.
It got me thinking. I spent some time playing around with different layouts and ideas, tested for the optimal page size, and then tested how to bring it into OneNote with the minimum of work.
And this was the result.

The results are interesting because there are lots of stickers and Goodnotes Planners being shown on the front page, but only a few dedicated OneNote Planners.
I think that there is a great opportunity here for us. With your current PowerPoint skills and all the templates you already have stashed on your hard drive, you could create these types of planners very quickly.
And here is the best news. OneNote is available on both Windows and Mac computers, as well as iPad and Windows Surface tablets. So the market is huge.

There is even training on how to set up your Etsy shop and upload the planners so you can start selling as soon as possible. I also purchased the additional upsells as they make getting started in this space even easier. I have made 2 planners so far and am working on several more.
Digital planner sales can only increase as more and more people switch from paper planners. Also there is the added advantage of being able to use as much color as you want without the high cost of color printing ink. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to diversify their book publishing business or get started on an Etsy business.
Digital Planner Onenote
Although there is a lot of mileage left yet in the publishing and sales of paper planners and journals, the current trend is towards digital products. There are many advantages for the end user, not the least of which is a lack of bulky books to carry around. Digital products make use of popular tablets, the main one of which is the iPad, although they can also be used on android products.
When I learned that Di Heuser of PLR Planners was publishing a course named “Digital Publishing Bonanza” which promised to unlock the secrets of making money by publishing digital planners, I couldn’t get signed up fast enough! Having bought from Di before, and knowing her to only release the highest possible quality products, I knew there was no risk involved and that I would be receiving excellent value for money.
